Gas Rebates in SA.

There are a number of natural gas rebates in South Australia which could be available to you if you are thinking about installing new gas appliances in your home or upgrading old appliances to natural gas.

There are three types of rebates available in South Australia in 2017 – One for NEW gas connections , one for major gas appliance upgrades and installations, and one for additional gas appliances such as BBQ's or cooktops.

Homes which are connecting to gas for the first time can take advantage of all three types of rebate, which in some cases could work out to be a free hot water system – but remember; these offers have limited numbers so get in quick and call us today.

Connecting your house to Gas for the first time?

If the gas lines run past your home, but don't currently connect to your property – then you could get a FREE gas connection and up to $2000 in rebates if you also install new major gas appliances such as natural gas hot water system, natural gas space heater, or natural gas central heater. That’s a $500 bonus for the installation with connection AND $500 each for installing gas appliances.

My house is already connected to Gas – Can I get a gas appliance rebate?

Yes.
For a limited time, there are a number of rebates available to eligible existing home customers for the installation or Upgrade of the following major appliances:
• Natural gas hot water systems
• Natural gas ducted central heating or hydronic heating
• Natural gas flued space heating (includes Gas Log Fires and Wall Furnaces)

The rebate does not apply to replacing an existing natural gas appliance. Each household can claim a maximum of one $500 rebate per appliance type - that's up to $1500 off!

These gas appliance rebates are available to the first 3500 valid claims in SA, Vic and NSW only,

Get $100 off additional gas appliances.

You could also be eligible to claim a $100 rebate for installing additional natural gas hot water or heating appliances, or other fully connected natural gas appliances. Converting appliances from any other fuel source to natural gas also qualifies for this offer.
Some examples of eligible appliances include:
Barbecues
Cooktop, oven, or combination cooker
Clothes-dryer
Outside heating appliances such as fire pits and fire tables

Natural Gas Rebate FAQ'S

Can I get a rebate for my new home?

No, the campaign offer is only eligible to existing properties – not new builds.

Can I get the rebates on a rental property I own?

Yes. Rental properties are eligible for the appliance rebates as long as all other criteria are met.

How do I arrange a new gas connection to my home?

1. Check here to see if natural Gas is available in your area.
2. Call the Australian Natural Gas networks new connections line to enquire about your home.
3. Contact Gas Works to arrange for one of our expert, licensed gas appliance fitters to carry out the work on your home.
4. Select your Gas retailer for billing purposes and enjoy the benefits of natural gas.

Can I claim all three rebates?

Yes, provided you meet all the specified terms and conditions you may be eligible to claim all three rebates.

Can I get a rebate for converting electric to gas hot water?

Yes. This is an upgrade and you should be eligible for a rebate.

Can Gas Works help me with a hot water service rebate?

Can I get rebate on a Gas Log Fire?

Yes a Gas Log Fire provided it is flued to the outside is classed as a space heater. Naturally you need to be eligible as per the terms and conditions. If you were to install a ducted natural gas heating system and a gas log fire you would qualify for a $1,000 in rebates provided they are both new services to the dwelling. If you are connecting to natural gas for the first time then you could be eligible for an additional $500 on top.

Do the rebates apply to bottled gas?

No the rebates only apply to natural gas where it already exists in your street.

 


 

*General campaign terms for NEW CONNECTION REBATES:
Free gas connection includes all labour, materials and pipework for a standard connection (includes up to a maximum of 15m of pipe in metro areas, subject to property conditions) to a residential home, from the gas main in the street up to and including the installation of the gas meter, in networks owned by Australian Gas Networks and where a gas main runs past the house.

This offer does not cover the cost of the outlet service or appliance installation.

**General campaign terms for APPLIANCE REBATES:
Appliances must be installed during the Campaign Period, which is 1 January 2017 through to 31 December 2017 (or until the rebate quota has been exhausted). Offer applies to existing properties, including rental properties.
Rebates are for new natural gas business (i.e. for new installations, or upgrades from appliances not solely fuelled by natural gas).
Only one $500 for EACH appliance type can be claimed by an eligible household. i.e. You can claim 1 x $500 hot water rebate, 1 x ducted central heater and 1 x flued space heating.

Exclusions:
• Natural gas to natural gas appliance replacements (unless a home is upgrading from a space heater to a central heating system). • New home installations.
• 'Installation only' jobs (proof of purchase must be provided).
