The burner holds 8 litres of Bioethanol fuel and is easily lit with the lightning rod provided. Safety is a big part of what EcoSmart have designed and created. As with any form of fire you need to be sensible when using these fires. They do create warmth but they MUST NOT be filled up when still lit. At the end of the lighting rod there is a hook to safely extinguish the fire by lowering the stainless steel lid onto the burner. The burner must be cooled down before refilling, but if you fill the unlit fire up prior to lighting it initially you will get full night of lovely heat without any issues at all.
