The Puretec WH2-55AMC is the whole house water filter we recommend for most Adelaide family homes. It’s a proven dual-stage system that sits on the outside wall of your house, plumbed into the mains line so every tap inside — kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, ensuite — pulls filtered water. First stage is a 5 micron polyspun sediment cartridge that traps fine particles, rust and dirt. Second stage is a large-capacity carbon block cartridge that reduces chlorine, chemicals, PFAS, and the taste and odour that go with them.
The architectural aluminium cover is what sets the WH2-55AMC apart from a bare-bones filter housing. It’s built to shrug off Adelaide sun, wind and rain, hides the cartridges from tampering, and looks like it belongs on the side of the house rather than an afterthought. If you want a designer-led look with a range of colour options — and 3-stage filtration with scale reduction — have a look at the FilterWall F4 Mineral Grey instead.
We install the WH2-55AMC as a plumbing job — typically on the outside wall near your existing hot water unit or where the mains line enters the house. Our licensed installers plan the location so cartridge changes are easy for you to do yourself later. Installation is quoted separately — in most cases we can put an estimate together from your house plans and a few photos of where your mains line enters the property, no site visit required.

Yes. The WH2-55AMC’s carbon block stage is designed to reduce PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, sometimes called ‘forever chemicals’), along with chlorine, chemicals and taste/odour compounds
Puretec recommends replacing both cartridges every 12 months for typical family use. Heavy usage or particularly dirty incoming water can shorten that. Replacement cartridges are the PX05MP2 (sediment) and CB10MP2 (carbon).
It’s a plumbing job that needs to be done by a licensed plumber — connecting to your mains line, adding isolation valves and pressure limiting where required. We can supply-only if you already have a preferred plumber, or supply and install as a complete package.
The WH2-55AMC handles up to 55 litres per minute — comfortably more than the flow rate of a typical Australian family home even with multiple outlets running. You shouldn’t notice a pressure drop under normal use.
The housing and cover are built for a long service life and backed by a 10-year Puretec warranty. Cartridges are consumables and are changed roughly annually.
Puretec is an Australian company and designs its systems specifically for Australian and New Zealand mains water conditions.
